The Hero I know

Dear Hero,

Knights in shining armor,

Men with big attitudes, attitudes.

That’s what fantasy has made them.

Heroes, what are they really?

Are they just make believe?

No way, that can’t be because

You’re the hero I know,

The one I see when I’m feeling down.

So heroes don’t have to be

Make believe or unreal.

Laughter radiates whenever you’re near.

Love surrounds as you hold tight,

Even when others let go.

You might not have a white horse,

Or muscles as big as a mountain,

But what you have is worth so much more.

Sword  fights and dueling,

Winning the prize and defeating the dragon,

Are all part of a fantasy world.

You bring light into worlds of darkness

With your easy laughter and smiles.

With ease, you can turn the pain to hope,

And the hope into a brighter future.

That’s what makes you the hero,

The hero that I know.

Although your clothes may not glimmer in the sun,

You shine brighter than the stars.

Although you may not always be strong,

You are the reason someone gets back to their feet.

Miracles happen whenever you are around.

The smiles that comes so hard to another’s life,

They become like the stars, constant.

You are the hero I know,

The hero I love,

The hero I will never lose.
