Heroes

A sea of brown faces

gold teeth, tattoos, piercings, and passion

guns, gats, blood in, blood out

no suits no ties no jobs no heroes

basketball, rap careers

no attorneys no doctors no men

staring at hate reflection

pipe dreams and promises, no futures

black shoes, black suit, black ties

change the role model, change the people

My reflection smiles back
