Hesitation
There was a slight uncertainty in life,
A cautious step wherever I would land.
The holes my feet made would soon sprout fresh strife,
Grief and desperation would come by my hand.
Depression at its worst would overwhelm;
So, plunging into water, I would hide,
Invisible from the world in my realm.
On the ground, dead and hopeless, laid my pride.
I realized I was different now: gone
Was my sense of bright optimism. Yet,
There, in my heart, arose a new, glad dawn,
Anxiety and happiness now met.
No longer was I hesitant. I dove
Off a cliff into what I wanted: love.
