Hey...

"See you in awhile, Crocodile."

Is it not what you used to say?

Is it not what you promised that day?

Month of May? Summer of '88?

Made an "X" on your heart and the pact was safe.

We were to never go astray.

Trust exchanged as we invested for faith.

Unless your fingers were crossed, and the act was staged.

Decades have passed and still you haven't came.

Yet here is where I remain, dragging around this ball and chain.

What a shame, to waste all those years waiting for the day to see you again.

Guess I was just destined to break.

Still I patiently await, for this pain to wither away.

Often I dream of us, running back to the place.

The spot in the maze, where we shared in the glades.

Hidden within the winter haze, when it rained snowflakes.

Where we played our little games and drew our names in the snow.

Long ago, you revived broken butterflies, that took their part in flight.

They would reach new heights, everytime I'd get on the roller coaster ride.

Times when you pressed your head against my chest, feeling blessed.

As I'd caress, every curve and edge.

Baptized in alluring kisses, memorized each one with a taste.

Swam in all of life's blisses, never making waves.

The stargaze you'd give me would leave me hypnotized.

Hearts connected by a look in the eyes.

Burning a blaze of passion in our souls inside.

If there was so much chemistry between you and I.

Why? Did our love die that night?
