Hey Daddy

Hey daddy there are As On my report card just for you. I bust my butt to get them But you say they are too few. You tell me I’ll never be good enough; I’ll never go anywhere, You don’t see how hard I try, It hurts that you don’t care. I’m trying my best for you, I’d be happy with some B’s, But it’s so hard to do well When it’s you I have to please. Hey daddy there are less numbers On the scale just for you. I fit into my jeans Just like you want me to. You told me they were too tight So I stopped eating and lost weight My pants are much looser now; My legs sure do look great! I’m getting really hungry, I want so bad to eat, But I’m on a strict diet now; I refuse to cheat. Hey daddy there’s a scar On my right wrist just for you. You drove me to the thing I swore I’d never do. You told me to be perfect; You told me how I failed. You showed me your dream child, In comparison I paled. I did my best to make you happy, I tried so hard to succeed, But I never met your standards So my wrist I did make bleed.
