Hidden
My smile it shines like a thousand suns
You’d think that nothing in my life ever went wrong
That’s a lie, it’s not true
There’s so much more to me then I’d ever show you
I feel pain I can’t describe
I feel scared to really open my eyes
I don’t want to be judged
But I don’t think they care
My life is a horror story, that’d make you hide in fear
There’s things buried inside of boxes
That are taped closed for good
The church isn’t safe
My friends might desert me
My family says they care
But I don’t want them to see the hurt in me
Where can I run to?
Why do I feel the need to hide?
I want to let it out
But I have way too much pride
I don’t know how to tell it
I don’t know what to say
So from the overflow of my mouth
The abundance of words hit the page
Hidden secrets and truths
All readily escape
Just to prove to the world that no one is safe
Even the happiest people
Have had some bad days
I write down my life
But won’t reveal it
Because everyone doesn’t need to know, how I’m feeling
