Hidden


Boxes drip from my father’s fingers as he sleeps. He doesn’t even realize it when they fall. He finds them in the morning and neatly stacks them, hiding another wall. He doesn’t even look in them, probably because he knows that Each box holds a pain, whether old or new. He doesn’t try to empty them. He just stacks them, hiding them from view.
