Hidden
Though the sunlight may wane, the stars grow bright.
The dim of day ushers in the birth of night.
A graceful change in more than sight.
The song of the dusk beckons me.
The moon's tender gaze over the sunlight's slumber softens my stride and opens my heart.
The time when weary eyes shut for sleep calls my yearning heart into the still.
The moon bright world hold softer hues than the garish dance of day.
With the reach of my gaze shortened comes imagination expanded.
Anything could lurk in the hidden land so familiar during the day.
All the whims of my mind come to life.
Hidden whispers caress my ears in darkened wind.
Figures of my memory can dance between the starlit trees.
Flecks of passion burst in the firefly's drifting flight.
I feel as though the tide of my mind recedes to yours, conversing in an endless whirl.
The fellowship found in the darkness revives my childhood fancies.
The extravagant creatures of the night are not only monsters under the bed.
Angels dance in these shadowy realms and kindred spirits wander with mine.
Those who slumber see this world through flesh covered lenses.
Their dreams remind them of the life found without their warm beds.
The night dances with the dreams of fancy.
As your eyes adjust to the dark, you see more stars.
As your heart likens to the night, you believe in the unbelievable.
As your feet wander through dark paths, they meet old friends in new clothes.
As your hands reach out to steady you, they are met by the welcoming shadow.
As your lungs rejoice in the freedom of the night, they emit darkened wind like smoky plumes.
But your heart knows no different, for it still pulses in the dark of your chest.
Fear not the dark, for it is only the changing face of a friend.
Shelter not from the moon, for it'll lead you through.
Dance not only in the electric sky, for the ballroom of starlight awaits.
Yearn not only for the dawn, for the night holds just as much.
We all exist under the darkened sky as much as under the sun
Heed only the fancies of your mind, for it can create angels or demons in the dark.
