Hidden

Beneath the floor,

Behind the door,

Out in the hall,

Inside the wall.

The darkness creeping,

The light is fleeting,

Hidden in the Shadows,

Is a fear appearing.

Hiding, scared in bed at night,

Wishing my mind would just take flight,

And take me away, far, far away,

to somewhere that was alright.

Beneath the floor,

Behind the door,

Out in the hall,

Inside the wall.

Just me, all by myself,

Looking at the books up on the shelf,

reading titles, brushing spines,

Not wanting to be all by oneself.

With no one there, right there beside me,

stuck in my mind, without the key,

Outside in the world, is where you are,

Right next to you, where I want to be.

Beneath the floor,

Behind the door,

Out in the hall,

Inside the wall.
