Hidden Beauty

Shhhhh

I was listening to the ocean

Keeping it's depth of secrets

I looked up and saw a face in the sky

Swirling clouds in abundance

I had a dream I was seven again

Climbing great big pines in the woods

Buh thump Buh thump

That is the sound of life

A whistle in the wind

is the sound of natures voice

Hmmm

That is the sound of the Earth

The growth of the plants

and the birth of life

Going about it's natural order

But nothing ever stays

The sky is darkening

The stars are hard to see

Because of this choking pollution

that has no solution

The clouds are now turning gray

My dreams are now filled with the future

A future that is a bleak wastleand

With scrawny twigs as trees

That can no longer bear food

or homes for the denziens of the forest

Flies and maggots surrounding everything and everyone

Stench of rot overtaking with more landfills

And animals hunted and beaten

bloodied and whining for help

All because we want more

and more

Not enough people are helping

Many are too greedy

To contribute to any change

Wanting techonolgy for personal gain

Instead of saving

This digusting but sometimes beautiful world

I would like to be this change

To save Mother Earth

Because I am a daughter of this world

with my beating heart

and pumping lungs

as proof

But I'm running out of time

The world is only getting worse

But in time, I will rise and do my part

And eventually return back to the Earth

Where it has seen the beginning of its beauty

Crumble at it's end

All I need is the change I want to see

unity between all things living

and protection for those not yet alive

Maybe I can love the world someday

But not today
