Hidden Behind the Mask
You look at me and you see what I want you to see
You see the glitz and glammer
The pretty face, and name-brand clothes
Because of my mask you don't see me,
You see the costume I've created
I hide behind the mask of new clothes
My real face is hidden behind all of the make-up
I have hidden behind the mask so long.
I have started becoming the mask
No one wants to be what they are not
The mask formed after the name-calling
It kept forming after the hitting and bullying
My face and body stay hidden behind this mask
I am too scared to show what I am really like
In truth, I don't like putting the make-up on everyday
I act as if being called ugly everyday doesn't hurt,
But on the inside I'm breaking apart
If it weren't for these things,
People would know how strange I am
They might find out that I LOVE music
And I like to have fun too,
But these people,
They make me scared to let my guard down
