Hidden Beneath

The winter sun is deceiving

Like your emotions

Bright rays may touch the ground

But the piercing cold won't let you forget

It will seep in through to your veins

It's all the same

The mask you wear

I will pretend to see it

I know you

I know your past

It's not mine to free

Only you can be you

And I will remain me

Every day you dress for battle

While I live in peace

You put up your shields

And I beg you to retreat

What would it take?

To show others the real you

Hidden beneath
