The Hidden Heart

How did you see me?

Was it the color upon me?

There is nothing different about this faceless creature

So now I ask

Why do you see me?

Eyes of silver, full of wonder

Mind so sharp it’s piercing

Gold gold heart

and kindness under

The space that keeps us apart

Now I ask just one last time

What drew your eyes to me?

Was it the mask that hides it all

Or the heart that you can’t see?
