Hidden Inside

Within this body is a girl,

A girl trying to be different

To be heard but that won’t do.

On the outside she tries to show her stars,

Her zig zag stripes but she gets looked over.

Anger fills her soul soon sadness joins.

Can she turn to someone? Will they even listen?

Thoughts fill her mind, thoughts that shouldn’t be there.

Screaming and crying never helped, didn’t make them listen.

Made them just think she was weird and not to mess with.

That wasn’t her. She was fun and nice,

Not this monster that had started to show out.

While the girl on the outside smiled, claiming to be okay,

The girl within stayed hidden inside.

Until one special day the hidden girl had it.

She was tired of hurting not being heard.

The one on the outside could feel her becoming stronger,

Grabbing the pencil and paper, the girl within wrote her story,

Her thoughts that now make her be heard, now when she cries the world cries.

When she’s angry or happy everyone doesn’t listen but they read.

They feel her emotions.

She no longer stays hidden inside.
