Hidden Jewel

Love is kind but also cruel

Everyone said don't fall for it ....don't

But she still looked at him as a hidden jewel

Someone she could mend on her own

She dismissed all that they were saying

Gave him, her heart hoping it wouldn't be torn in two

But now she's paying

Because, little did she know it would be black and blue

Everything began to spiral

When words of hate spilled from his lips

And she was in denial

Now love was shown through a fist rather than a kiss

When she wanted to leave

He'd never let her through

She asked. "Tell me why, please."

He answered, "Because I love you!"
