The Hidden Light
Our friendship is more than just hi’s and bye’s,
We keep each other up, never letting out a sigh.
When you’re happy, I’m happy, and when you’re down, I’m down,
I always want to see that beautiful smile, never a frown.
You’re the only person to who I wouldn’t tell a lie,
I’m here to listen, love you, and hold you when you cry.
And yes, I know that what I say may be cheesy,
But with how amazing you are, saying the truth is just that easy.
But enough about me, this is simply for you,
I can’t wait for the future and see what you’ll do.
You’ll be a teacher, a scientist, whatever your heart desires,
Your happiness is more important than anything, and you know I’m not a liar.
I love when we talk; I never want it to end,
It means so much to me when you smile, whether it’s from the gifts or letters I send.
I know you so well, it’s quite funny you see,
I hope that you grow into what you’ve always wanted to be.
Because there is no force that can stop a miracle like you so sweet and divine,
Everyday I thank God I have someone like you to call mine.
From your birthday to your wedding, I won’t be late,
The fact we met some might call fate.
I hope this lasts like the shine of the moon,
When I’m feeling upset I’ll just change the song to our tune.
And as we grow old, with our friendship as lively as air,
I’ll shed a tear of happiness, because of all the memories I will share.
