Hidden in Plain Sight

In her eyes

I saw broken glass

Once a work of art

Now in pieces

In her eyes

I saw betrayal

Everyone she had met

Who turned their backs on her

In her eyes

There was pain

Trying not to show it

Trying to be happy again

And yet I can see

Dreams for the better

Because this can't last forever

It can't last forever.
