The Hidden Poet

Be cool, they say,

Don't stick out, they shout.

I thought about it everyday.

No one knew I wasn't being true.

Deep down there was something hiding,

That I was really good at rhyming.

I kept this talent a secret,

In fear of being different,

But then I realized

What my words could provide.

The world loved my words,

for I had no fear.

Suddenly it all became clear.

We're all a hidden poet,

although most of us don't show it.
