Hidden Truth

Liberty;

defined as the state of being free within society from oppressive restrictions

America the so called land of the free, isn't all that it seems

Why can't I take a bite from the sweet apple tree?

Why must my people live in poverty?

How come my education isn't free?

Father, Mother, Brother, Sister all living stressfully

Grandma's sick but no one can afford the hospital bills

So she will remain ill

The constitution SCREAMS EQUALITY!
Yet I still feel like three fifths
Getting harassed just because my skin has a darker tent

Wall Street and Banks gamble on what we worked hard to earn
And when things hit the fan, a bailout is what they deserve?

In a life of such confusion it's hard to say that I have much control
And this is why I write
Because the only thing that is truly free in this world . . .
Is my Mind
