Hide
Sometimes I want to hide
from life
so I don't have to feel things
Like strife.
I see children
Staring
Learning to fear
Never daring.
It makes me weep
These salty tears
To see such babes
So full of fears.
I wish for once
That I was strong
To hold their hand
To sing a song
A song of beauty
Of magic and light
A song of love
And of doing right.
I want to hide
Away from pain.
Away from silence
That screams my name
I cover my ears
My eyes held tight
To block out
The piercing night.
But in attempts
To avoid the sadness
I'm afraid
I fell into madness
The crazy part-
I wasn't scared
To be the one
Who never cared.
If I could cut
Away these scars
And leave myself
Chasing stars
Then maybe I
would Find my place
Amongst the sky's
Out in space.
