Hide and Seek

Tchelitchew's Hide and Seek
May be enough to describe me
And the reasons as to why I write
Whether it be for easing the pain,
Or to please.

A speck in the background--
Faded
Like high school students
Partying all night
Smoking and drinking,
Like my ex best friends.

An outline, with no face
A mouth, with no voice
The smallest ears,
With the greatest listening skills
I am simply a blur compared to those around me.

Stolen words,
A broken voice,
Numbing thoughts
Shouting,
Pounding,
Against the insides of my head.

I am not enough for those around me.
But I am more than enough for myself.
