Hide-and-Seek

Because you could outsmart him,

After years of running and hiding,

He pulled a page from your bag of tricks,

And waited patiently for you.

The calluses and lines in your hands

Reveal years of hard work and struggle,

But also years of love and protection

From a monster brought to life.

You went from drinking the fountain of youth

To facing the wind of change.

From young and strong to old and fragile,

He patiently waited and seeked you.
