Hide Your Feelings

This line is happy

This line is sad

This line is honest

This line makes absolutely no sense what so ever

I was convinced when younger

That my fears must be hidden

That the world would not accept them,

That I had to pretend

But I once read a poem

It touched me to the core

Not because they were perfect

But because it was raw

It was vulgar, it was truthful

It sent my mind in a whir

Maybe I didn't have to hide

My fear of fears was shaken

And it hasn't stopped shaking yet

I won't let it
