High Up

Walking,

Climbing,

Attaching myself to the rope.

Friends hold my hand,

they see my fear.

They push me forward.

One step,

Two.

Don't look down.

Easy.

Intermediate,

Hard,

Advanced.

I can't do this.

I am stuck.

I cannot move.

Friends encourage me on again,

telling me not to look down and to have faith.

I

Let

Go.

Eyes are closed,

Ready for impact.

I open them.

Safe,

Dangling,

Laughing,

Ready to do it all over again.
