You got me anxious,
nervous
always at your service,
living broke,
in Tahoe, C. A.
hitched up
the chevy,
hopin for a baby...
I left a good home,
for a life on the road...
high, in the mountains,
it was 20 below

You were gone in the morning,
for a job interview,
said you'd be back
in the afternoon
but
Two days later
middle of the night...
stumble in
mumbelin
turn on the light....

Screamin Wake UP
baby! baby baby.... I'm home!
don't be mad honey
for leaving you alone...

You had lips blue, no shoes
and a sheepish grin
LIES IN YOUR EYES
and a pockets full of pills...

I say:

We got Another notice
to shut off the lights!
Now you're blaming me
for all those fights!
I can't remember
when I
been this cold
high in the mountains
it was 20 below...

You say:
get me some coffee!
where's my cigarette's?
Where's the rest of my whiskey?
Bitch I'm froze to death!
Don't just stand there
ain't you glad that I'm home?

I say:No!!!

You say:
I'm not lying!
I swear!!!
The car broke down,
on the way home...
The tire blew honey,
I was all alone.
I lost my cell phone
the battery was fried...
no way to call you
I almost died...
The cops came around
I got the Denver boot,

I'm telling you the truth
down in the valley
the traffic was slow
High in the mountains
it was 20 below!

smilin... smirking
actin like a jerk,
sniffling....blowing
say you've got a cold,
Honey what's that

I say:
You change the subject
contrarian thief....
twist every story
to suit every need....
Where's the money
to pay the rent?

I guess it's spent!
