High School

Together

we stand alone.

Not as one,

but as many ones,

as we navigate our fearsome challenges.

Hidden

in the sea of roaming faces.

We are not seen,

but we smell the victory

and press onward,

till we grab the attention

of the ones we love,

and taste of the wonderful glory

of dear friendship.

Separated

into the species of our kind,

we find joy in our flock.

We rise into the air,

and see the endless space.

Yet we stay near ground

till our wings grow strong.

Then our adventure truly begins.

Later,

we will move on,

letting the wind take us

to follow our elders

who have gone before.

Soaring

is in the future for me.

I glide low,

waiting,

as the indecisive plan their way.

For I know mine.

I endure,

and grow stronger,

till the day I become

the real Me.
