High School

Why do we fall short of the goals and expectations we set for ourselves? Why do we seek approval from mediocre social institutions for conditional self-esteem and a brief feeling of importance in return for the snatched hopes and dreams from those choosen as initiation targets. Becasue we feed off of the raw emotion from our peers. We yurn for that 'quick fix" of artificial happiness and that temporary head seat at the top of the popularity hiearchy. We are shallow, greedy, and mean. We are willing to step on our so called friends backs without even a parting glance backwards, or a brief "im sorry smile".
