High School Fireworks Show
As I am sitting here watching this show in the sky,
I sit back and wonder where the time has gone.
The first year was low, and seemed to take forever,
the baby explosions in the sky were mixed with all the others.
Next year it was even higher.
I knew those were bigger than some others
Still I sat and wondered how long it would be,
until they would be the biggest and the best of them all.
I was half way done, the colors started to burn brighter,
with big explosions, my delight!
They traveled so high into the sky.
I wanted this moment to be lost in time.
Before I knew it the last part of the show has started,
so far it’s whistling by faster than all the others.
I like this part of the show more the most,
and I want it to last forever.
But I know that it will end with a boom
on my own grand finale!
