Highway Spector
A formless spirit lurks tonight
Across the highway at twilight
Truly a most mysterious sight
A formless spirit lurks tonight
Through the shadows and crickets' song
The formless being moves along
Intent on learning right from wrong
Through the shadows and crickets' song
Past the flowers, purples and blues
Yet blinded by the dark to hues
Or always blind, say passing clues
Past the flowers, purples and blues
Between the silhouettes of trees
Into the nothing that he sees
Into the nothingness that he's
Between the silhouettes of trees
Beneath the clouds that warn of storm
A face of rage, both red and warm
Yet he'll not stop 'til he's taken form
Beneath the clouds that warn of storm
Through the woods he will escape
And hope to give his body shape
Trudging down the dark landscape
Through the woods he will escape
