Hillside Memories

We ran up the hill, years ago

Rosy cheeks and cold noses

I was eight

My sister was six

Trudging through the snow

We reached the top

And plopped into the sled

My sister in my lap

“Push faster this time!”

We repeated without stop

Gramma started to run

She released our sled

We screamed as we flew

Far across the yard

Having so much fun

Headed back up the hill

That went on for miles

So very out of breath

Not knowing just how many

Memories that hill would make
