This Is For Him
This Is For My Father
This is for him
the man who mumbled in tongues that God couldn't understand
He wondered how was it possible to place an angel of god into flesh
I was that prayer that was answered by God
When he saw me
My body, had glowing wings of the sun
My face a miracle
my eyes held heaven in the palms of his hands
Daddy
Do you remember you wrote me a letter
May 2,2006
Asking me how was I doing
I wrote you back, but you never replied
This is for you
You were the reason
Why the only name I owned was bastard,
And Why kids made of me because you found out last year that
I was Dyslexic, and though I was dumb
Remember my 14th birthday
I called you, asked you what happened, and it was in the silence
That I trembled
You left me to go bungee jumping by umbilical cords
Just to see if I could walk on water like peter did
But I never drowned in your lies
But I brought Houdini back from the dead
To re-write spells in scrolls that sit in the attic to collect dust
And remember how we played hopscotch on your torso, and Dance along your toes
This is for my father
This is for my father This is for my father
This is for the man that tried to pluck, my childhood memory from the palms Of my Hands
But mama told me that out of the crayon box you choose
to chew on yellow instead of white because pride told you its to sinful
You bathe your body in the rain to wash the sin off
You wear masculinity like a mask across your face
Because you heard God's heart beat though the thundering, and lighting, Struck Mother earth
To tell you to get your act together
Because you forgot the face of your son that was born
February 14 1995
But you say you love me
So oil paint my face in the pupil of your eyes
And creased the echo of my voice on your back
Then tell me you love me
Because I can’t help It When I look into the mirror I see the burst of the supernova leaving the creast shape of my eyes
your face Edged into the moon And I tell God to bless you because Daddy I still love you
Despite of what they may say I can now sleep to the cricket melody of your heart like a Lullaby, He told me
I’m sorry for being a half a man, but you got to understand I wore the privileges of being a man Insecurity
Forgive me for forgetting the responsibility of a father, but I am now able to hold u in They memory of your voice
Daddy
Your love was always something worth dying for
Like a Holocaust morning with silent guns shots of World War 2 in my veins
And even though you weren’t their u taught me to walk hard because angels to can Feel pain from heaven
Playing their sorrow strings in their harps strongly
Breaking to the silent pen drop of ignorance
Because together we tapped dance on rain clouds and let the dust fall from the Floorboards of heaven be a blessing to the 5th Commandment
that says Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land
which the lord thy God giveth thee
Because biblical stories are real
And Daddy
I’m willing to be your son
