Him
What is a life without Him?
The faith that permeates
My every move and motion,
The passion that motivates
All thoughts and dreams,
The brick that builds
The barrier between
My triumph and my demise
He watches me.
As I walk through
The Valley of the shadow
Of Death,
I fear His absence.
As I absorb His message
Both within his feats
Of nature and within
The character of His creation,
I need Him for
He empowers me.
When I begin
To slip through the
Cracks of defeat
I remember His words.
When Life presents
Its gift of depression
And misguidance
I envision His
unimaginable reward.
When I look to the skies
I scream for
His mercy and
His appreciation, for
He protects me.
When my universe
Begins to crumble and crush
My soul will illuminate
For there is no place
I would rather be
Other than next to Him
Who has always loved me.
