To him

It is because I love him..

I check up on him all the time

School account, Twitter, Instagram, I don’t need to draw a line

It is because he is muse..

I will drop everything when his life’s confused

My priorities are second-hand, I don't want to lose my man

It is because I can’t hurt him..

I’ll lie and say that I’m okay

Was with another guy another day, but I don't know what he will say

It is all because I care..

But Do I?

Yet If we did love each other..

We’d delineate our need for space

Be independent, steady, at a consistent pace

Yet If we were each other’s muse..

We would comprehend imperfections

Apologize, respect, work towards new directions

Yet If we did stray from hurt..

We might be naive

Go up and down, but when it was our time take our leave

All because together we care.
