Him
Darkness, that's all I could see.
Every waking moment was monotonous.
It had been so long since I saw any light,
That I forgot what it was like.
Eventually, I gave up trying to fight it.
The weight that I carried with me everywhere.
No one noticed me drowning.
No one cared enough to notice.
Then, it all changed.
His smiled showed me the light.
Its warmth was undeniable and genuine.
I felt a flutter in my chest,
Every time he spoke to me.
I was out of control and loved every second.
He pulled me out of my dark, lonely world
And introduced me to his fantastic, effervescent one.
Suddenly, I saw how beautiful colors were
As opposed to my former dreary black and grey.
His touch awoke my senses
And ignited a fire within me.
I would never be the same again.
I never wanted to be the same again.
He has forever changed me.
He continues to change me.
