Him

I knew the minute you looked at me

I knew you were different

I knew you were someone I could fall in love with

I love the way your eyes crinkle at the edges when you smile

Not the posed smile — the one when it’s just you and me

I love the pieces of you that you have yet to learn how to love

I knew the minute you looked at me

I knew you were different

I knew you were someone I could fall in love with

Our Post-It note treasure hunts are modern day love letters

Your sleepy voice in the morning — my favorite song

You are everything love was meant to feel like

I knew the minute you looked at me

I knew you were different

I knew you were someone I could fall in love with

You sing and dance as if it’s just you and me

When you wink at me to say “I’m all yours” it makes my heart flutter

Just when I think that it is impossible to love you anymore, you prove me wrong

I knew the minute you looked at me

I knew you were different

I knew you were someone I could fall in love with

You made me leave my comfort zone — somewhere I have spent my whole life

My new comfort zone is in your arms; a place I hope to never leave

I knew I was home since the first time you held me

I could write thousands of words trying to capture what it feels like to love you

What it feels like to see your beautiful smile

Or how it feels to be loved by you

But none of them could ever do it justice
