A Hint of Green

Steel.

Shiny boxes of metal and glass.

Cold.

Cars speed by, coughing out poison.

Suffocating.

People wander in shades of grey.

Empty.

But there is hope.

In the distance, far from the boxes.

Far from the poison.

Far from the monotonous grey.

There is

Hope.

Far away from the choking despair

There is a hint of green.

Where trees sway in a gentle breeze and birds drift through a blue sky.

Where bubbling brooks bubble and fish play merrily.

Where children sing and dance, imagining a stick is far more than it seems.

Where I can save myself from the ninety degree angles of metal

Finding solace in the sloping crooks of trees.

Living a life of color.

Breathing in the sweet elixir.

Far away from the choking despair.

There is a hint of green.
