His Absence

Dear Mario,

How can one be so selfish?

The way you treated a complete stranger with so much love

Yet I’ve been waiting eighteen years

And still I’m not recognized,

it kills me inside!

I try so hard to even have a conversation

Or the chance to find something we share in common

But honestly you don’t seem to care.

After a while, I begin to think I must be such a bad person that even you, can’t comprehend.

A constant battle I have to fight for your love

But everything I try seems to irritate you.

Still I fail to find your love.

I feel hopeless.

Stupid.

Worthless.

My everyday energy and effort seems to slowly fade.

The one person,

I thought I could count on,

broke my heart before anyone could.

Now this haunts me

And I’m scared to love

Because I sit back and wonder,

How can someone else love me, and you couldn’t.

I fear loneliness because of you.

Sad part about this all,

You will always be a part of me.

The years’ progress,

I’ve gotten to the understanding

We can’t take back what we never had,

And yes it has harmed me in ways you will never understand

But I must continue to live.

And although I’m stronger now,

I still remain with this question:

How was it so easy to push me out your world?

Our bond should’ve been unbreakable,

Sadly I walk alone.

Sincerely,

Your daughter
