His Biggest Fear

He texted me "good morning beautiful"
punctuated with a little red heart
Every night my screen lit up with
"sleep well gorgeous"
He opened all the doors
and held my hand tight
"In sickness and in health"
We promised eachother
unaware of the illness that polluted
our once pure love

The morals which I had once held
near and dear to my heart had blurred they faded

I miss her.
The innocent girl I once knew
She never let her Bible collect dust
She prayed under the rising suns
and the setting same
She freely loved herself and others
sharing the love God had given her to borrow
I miss her.

He too noticed her absence
"My biggest fear is you becoming
something I want and not what you need"

We pretended his biggest fear had not
already became reality
