His Bright White Pants

She said that once upon a time,

one could freely run under the dark blanket of the sky, with the only lights

coming from the white balls of fire, sprinkled all around.

She said that once upon a time,

one could freely roam the ageing dirt road,

where the only thing that occupies your mind is your empty stomach and blistering heat

She said that he would happily clean his old pair of pants,

with a soap that looks like it could construct great houses

and even clean the dirtiest of spots with ease.

She said that when he was done,

his bright white pants contained no mark,

as if pure.

If only the world was as easy to clean,

like his bright white pants!

But now they are stained,

by that small mark...
