To His Days
The day he touched Earth
Small, delicate hands
Fragile as crystal sculptures
Strong as unbreakable bands
The day he saw blue balloons
Dozens crowding telephone lines
Excitement loudly spurting the speakers
Many tasted patient Italy wines
Celebrating an arrival
New occurrences bring new times
The day he talked
All around gasps of air taken
Smiles pasted upon faces of awe
Growth had been awaken
The day he finally realized
His daddy wasn't home much
He knew it was something more
Than just going out for lunch
The day his daddy came back
He observed the difference
His mentality no longer favorable
Began to hold a preference
The day he stayed in bed till 6AM
Gallons of regret filled his brain
Extension chords were for electricity, not whipping
That's when he knew he was insane
The day his night was disturbed
From the deafening screams of terror
Watching a mother be beat from her love
Had sought out a complete error
The day he found his escape
The wonders music can do
A saxophone and some breath
Up until now, pain is all he knew
The days assemblies formed
On stage with whistles, chants, and claps
Times were finally turning around
He never dreamt of a problematic relapse
The days of of his positivity ended
All which was left to see was a darkness
Substances robotically taking control
Not allowing individuality, walking carcass
Addiction too strong,resulting in weakness
This moment could've never been foreshadowed
All diminished was his uniqueness
Vision black, white, all blurred
The days which secreted fear
Nights of liquid blindness and persuasion
Metal balls flying past, skimming cloth there and here
Dangerous and chaotic, spiritual protection was the answer to equations
The days the badness attempted to arrest
Internal motives drove his potential advancement
Time was ticking fast
He had no room for toxicants
The days of succession were far overdue
A fresh start was needed
As he has reflected
New beginnings had been seeded
