His Embrace

He is a secret

In the forest

That only I know of.

When he approaches

I inhale the spicy

Woody scent

Rolling off of him

In waves.

A dense forest

Surrounds

My mind;

One in which only I

Have come

To know

And love.

Our hands entwine-

A fire alights

Within me,

A bonfire illuminates

Around me

Casting brilliant shadows

All around

He comes closer

Our hearts beating together

Like a drum

The trees and the

Shadows

Start to sway

To the beat

As I do

We move together

In a slow

Dance

But,

Our Hearts

Kick up their pace

Enchanted in this

Forest of senses

We dance around

The flames

Careful not to scorch our skin

As the beat picks up

Even more

We lose our hesitation

And dance instinctively

Oblivious to the sting

Of the flame

Like the swaying of branches

Our limbs entangle

I cling to him

Soaking up all

That I can in this

Moment

As tree roots cling

To water

Their life force

He pulls back

And I lean back into him

Bowing like trees

To the wind

I try to get

Even closer,

As even the leafs

Try to get closer

To the wind;

Leaving their life source

To chase the wind --

Just as part of me will

Try to follow

Him

Even if just

For a while

I feel the cry

Of the trees

In the forest

As they

Realize

They can not

Truly

Follow the wind

They can only

Dance

For it

Give

Pieces of their

Life

To it

The flame

Dies

Down to embers

As the

Embrace

Comes to an

End

Even when he is

Gone

This feeling

Doesn’t leave

The embers will

Forever burn

Just as he

Will always keep

A piece of me

Within him

I do not leave

The forest

The forest

Does not

Leave

Me

I’ll wait

Quietly

In the Darkness

Until The wind

Blows

And alights

The flames once more

I wait for

The next

Embrace

The next

Dance

In this

Forest

Of

Enchantment
