His Eyes

His eyes were beautiful

They were made of blues mixed with greens mixed with joy mixed with me

For years we lived in solitude and peace

But he never truly cared, not in the least

I sat in my room and dreamed of the day

I laid there for hours and I could only pray

Now his eyes are blues mixed with greens mixed with lust mixed with me

I was too young to understand what it meant

To be locked up in a basement without so much as a dent

He passed me around like a rumor on the lips

All that mistreatment was sorrow by the sip

His eyes filled with blues mixed with greens mixed with anger mixed with me

As I got older he began to grow sad

I didn’t know why he was always so mad

He would scream and yell and preach of sin

While he placed embers that danced on my skin

His eyes faded from blues mixed with greens mixed with death mixed with me

All grown up and my body had decayed

He didn’t need me anymore so I couldn’t stay

I was cut into pieces and hugged by the earth

Girls like me did not come with dearth

His eyes were blues mixed with greens mixed with malice mixed with me
