His Gravity Back

She waits

In a hotel

Downtown

She waits

Another minute

An hour passes by

She looks at the clock

Wonders why

The earth moves so slowly

Whenever he's gone away

She wonders

How she forgot to say

What he needed to hear

On the phone

She can't believe she didn't tell him

He waits

In a taxi

Driving towards her

Downtown

Has never felt so alive

But so lonely to him

Now that he knows

What he's missing

Dangling on a thread

Ready to break

He's counting stars

Like dreams

He's picking up pennies

Praying

It's enough

To convince her to stay

Because he can't believe

He never told her

Say anything

She breathes

Say anything to me

I'll believe

Whatever comes out of your mouth

But you have to tell me

Silence this doubt

I know you've been out

And about

In town

And it breaks my heart

I want to let it go

Say goodbye

Kiss those lips

And free myself

From this misery

Of missing a ghost

But here you are

At my hotel door

And now you're here

Asking for more

He can't believe

She's gotten more beautiful

With time

Space inbetween

He feels it inside of him

A burn

It twists and turns

He takes her hand

Looks down

Into those eyes

And suddenly

He's going to be alright

Just one night

With her

Having her back

Her arms anchoring him

Back down to earth

He knows

He'll be just fine

Now that

He has his gravity back
