His Presence

On a desert island, only sand, rocks, and some palm trees

Completely surrounded by ocean.

One may become completely overtaken by emotion.

One may take a moment and freeze.

You will be granted one thing,

what will it be?

Says I, it does not have be something you can see.

My only need is the presence of the one true king.

He who gives me strength on the days I am failing,

He who forgives no matter the wrong,

He who provides a peace that is life long,

He who sacrificed his own son through a gruesome nailing.

If at a point on this island I feel grim,

I’ll be reminded that in the end, I will be in Heaven with him.
