his saturated sweetness
the chiseled smiles
cause our hearts to flutter
like we're butterflies
we put our prom corsages in scrap books
to be reminded of a lived by fantasy
he picked her up at 7
as she twirled in her long teal dress
how fondly he felt
to sway with someone so delicate
that seemed more like a one time thing
hearts don't accidentally get stepped on
and you can no longer act
that it's all not evident
liar she wants to chant
at the top of her lungs
until her voice
is too weak to scream
and he is too bored
to fiddle with her heart
the way he fiddled with his fingers
the first time they met
he settled down
in the home of her heart
and propped his feet on the table
as if this is his now
and he has a say in everything
a dictator of things he wishes to hold in the center of-
his cupped hands
around her chin
she is like sand
she slipped right through
the cracks of his fingers
going noticed but not retainable
just because she cracked the door open
doesn't mean she wanted him to barge in
with out warning
she was blindsided by his saturated sweetness
that her mother already warned was going to be too sweet
and cause cavities
ending her up in a dentist chair
even though he knew she hated the dentist
torture and hatred
this is an emotional whirlwind
of issues were he was the mastermind
she loved him so much
she started to hate him
