She's bruised and battered, leaning against the wall.

He's done it again, made her fall.

She stays put, like the good little wife he wants her to be.

She's helpless here, she can't set herself free.

Afraid and trapped, an animal in a cage

He is her master,
She is his slave.

Bloody and bleeding, but this is just a routinely night

Nothing new, no other fright.

He claims to protect her, to show her right from wrong.
He says to straighten her act up,
and her punishment wouldn't be so strong.

Tears stream down her cheeks,
She moves to get up, but feels too weak.

No hand to hold, no comfort to receive,
Here this woman lies, with nothing but her title

She is His Wife.
