HISTORY is HISTORY!

A HISTORY teacher was suspended

For teaching his students about HISTORY

A video was played in the classroom

How white actors used to paint their faces dark

Specifically known as “Blackface”

A practice that started in the 19th Century

The assistance principal happened to be in the room when the video was shown

He soon became personally offended and wanted the teacher gone

Parents had no problem with the video

For HISTORY is HISTORY

One mom even said, “It had nothing to do with racism...We need to educate our kids to see how far we've come in America.” How is that racism?”

In the middle of the mothers statement the writer so desperately needed to add

→ whose husband is black

There we go again

Still showing racism

How can we stop racism if we still proclaim racism?

Its like telling someone not to lie

And then turning around and lying to someone else

“Blackface” happened in the 19th century

And we are living in the 21st century

The HISTORY teacher was doing his job,

However this new generation may

Unfortunately repeat HISTORY

For teachers are not being allowed to do their jobs

To teach HISTORY!!

Writing is another form of expression for me, I thank God everyday for it.
