History Repeats Itself

History repeats itself,

We've all heard this,

It's happening around us,

Aren't you nervous?

History repeats itself,

I see the past,

It's sneaking up behind us,

Are you ready for its wrath?

History repeats itself,

It can't be ignored.

Men killed 'cause of their skin,

Is this the new norm?

History repeats itself,

I know you heard it,

The innocent are killed,

Do we deserve this ?

History repeats itself,

Our ancestors fought,

We were granted the right,

So why do we still bleed?

History repeats itself,

They dreamt of being free,

I look today,

And that is still a dream for me.
