A Hold On Beauty

We say beauty is in the eye of the beholder Yet society has painted distorted beauty for us to behold Thick waist- they don't want it! Be ashamed, they tell you Indirectly through frail models and perfected pictures Society tells us to love ourselves But only if we strive to become THEIR image Only if we possess the beauty they behold RUN From the unrealistic standards The ads telling you that your beauty is wrong From society Beauty is imperfect Beauty is the freckles you can't get rid of Beauty is your crooked nose Your love handles Your frizzy hair Your odd smile Your stretch marks Y O U Beauty is everything you are Everything you will become Everything you're not Beauty is YOU
