Hold Fast
I just saw it again.
surely it know's im right here, right there
I feel the wind, or is it the breath?
too scared to look and face death
passing right through my soul
corners of my eyes searching home
this cannot be, I'm losing hope
this cannot be, I'm on a slope
anxiety grips me and my stomach knots
society ships me and my fear of cops
am I losing it or is this my new reality?
who is choosing this and where's my mortality?
this figure, it's on the prowl
it's pacing from stern, to bow
I can't keep it in the back of my mind
an internal mutiny just right behind
panic in my heart of hearts
you can say I've lost my part
been here before, face it down
slay the demon, place your crown
bury them again, in the ground
very dead my friend, hear no sound
light the way with your heart
sight returning, create your art
